Common Issues & Solutions

  • Issue: Visible weld lines on the appearance surface.
    Solution: Optimize gate layout to move weld lines to nonappearance areas; increase mold temperature or use sequential valve gating; place vents at weld line locations.
  • Issue: Drag marks or ejector pin marks on the appearance surface during ejection.
    Solution: Optimize draft angles; polish or coat deep cavity surfaces; optimize ejector system layout and increase ejection area.

Important Considerations

  • Provide complete 3D data of the motorcycle front fairing and Class A surface requirements before mold design, clearly defining the parting line position and appearance areas.
  • Specify the plastic material grade and additives (e.g., UV stabilizers, glass fiber content) accurately for shrinkage setting and steel selection evaluation.
